Addison County Community Trust (ACCT) would like to share the exciting opportunity for a passionate community member to serve on the Fundraising Committee in a volunteer capacity. This committee is comprised of Board Members, Staff, and community members. The Committee is primarily responsible for implementing ACCT’s Annual Giving campaign in support of our mission to enrich the lives of low- and moderate-income people of Addison County by ensuring the development, management, and maintenance of safe, quality, affordable homes and related supports for families, seniors, and individuals. The ideal candidate would be a resident of Addison County, or has strong ties to the area, and is an advocate and supporter of affordable housing.

The work (and fun!) includes:

Fundraising:
  • Participating in the planning and execution of annual fundraising appeals, campaigns, and other fundraising activities. This includes but is not limited to current activities:
    • Spring Appeal
    • Annual Event
    • Year End Appeal
  • Sharing prospective donors and sponsors with ACCT and stewarding these connections
  • Working closely with the Committee and Fundraising Coordinator to increase corporate support from businesses and promote sponsorship opportunities for ACCT events and programs
  • Attend monthly Committee meetings (typically 1 hour)
  • Contribute to grant writing process as opportunities become available

Technical:
  • Experience and access to Microsoft applications – specifically Teams
  • Social media access and experience a plus, but not necessary

Communications:
  • Share news articles and other information to Social Media platforms if subscribed
  • Hand out flyers to businesses
  • Write personal notes on individual donor letters
  • Marketing and communications experience a plus, but not required
  • Communicate gratitude to donors and sponsors via letters, emails, or phone calls

To apply, email Hillary Desilets at [email protected] to request an interview. ACCT strongly encourages persons with disabilities, persons of color, women, and LGBTQIA+ persons to apply.
