ACCT is pleased to announce our 2nd Annual Fundraiser to benefit our affordable housing programs in Addison County!

When: Saturday, July 30, 6-8 p.m.
Where: Lincoln Peak Vineyard, 142 River Rd, New Haven

This year, we're doing it up with maintenance tips and tricks: visit our maintenance help desk, learn about common home repair projects from our maintenance techs, or just come learn about the housing market while you sip Marquette!

Tickets are on sale at bit.ly/Sip4Housing, and available for purchase with cash or credit at ACCT's office and at Lincoln Peak Vineyard.  $25/individual or $40/couple go directly to benefit ACCT thanks to generous donations of space and refreshments by Lincoln Peak Vineyard and Blue Ledge Farm.  Your ticket includes:
  • Complimentary wine tasting of Lincoln Peak wines
  • Complimentary cheese from Blue Ledge Farm
  • Live Music
  • Raffle entry to win a bottle of Lincoln Peak wine of your choice
  • AND, tips and tricks from our highly trained maintenance staff!

Food will also be available for purchase from Mama Dog's Food Truck ("Classic comfort cuisine with a nutritious organic twist"), as will 50-50 raffle tickets.  See the full details in the flier below.

Last year's event celebrated ACCT's 25th anniversary and raised over $3,000 toward our fundraising goal.

Special Membership Meeting Minutes Now Posted

6/20/2016

ACCT held a Special Meeting of the Membership on June 1 to begin working on new bylaws for the organization.  ACCT was originally established as a membership organization, and many parts of the bylaws require a membership vote to make changes or carry out certain activities.  Anyone who attended the Special Meeting was eligible to become a member, as ACCT has not maintained an active membership in recent years.  The warned agenda items voted on include 1) establishing the membership as attendees of the meeting, 2) authorizing the Board proactively to amend the bylaws, and 3) removing the requirement for a membership vote in order for ACCT to sell or transfer land, except in cases where members would be directly affected by the sale (e.g. residents of a mobile home park).  The full minutes are posted below.

Did you know that just three behaviors can lead to the four conditions that account for 50% of all deaths in Vermont?  The "3/4/50" campaign through the Vermont Department of Heath aims to draw attention to this startling fact and raise awareness about three behavioral changes people can make to prevent diseases and reduce mortality.

The SASH Program is spreading the word about 3/4/50 and helping seniors to implement these behaviors that can promote their health--for example by providing activities like Bone Builders and walking groups that increase physical activity, helping seniors access healthy meals, and supporting smoking cessation.
