At KTP in Bristol, Lea has a yard, a view of the mountains, and the ability to walk to all the amenities in Bristol's vibrant downtown. Lot rent is $357 per month. Depending on an individual's situation and the financing terms available to them, the costs of owning a new home in an MHC can be affordable to households earning in the range of $60,000 to $75,000 annually. Compare this to the $105,000 in annual income needed to afford a median-priced single-family home in Addison County. Of her new home, Lea says:

"I’m a native Vermonter, I grew up in North Ferrisburgh. I lived in the city of Vergennes for 13 years before I moved to Bristol. I have been a full time professional cosmetologist for almost five years. I work at the Supercuts Williston location.
