CVOEO and AHW Collaboration: Landlord/tenant Resources!

Last week, AHW partnered with CVOEO to host an informational session for landlords across Addison County. Designed with small, private landlords in mind, the event created a welcoming space to learn about fair housing practices and explore the many resources available to both landlords and their tenants.

AHW’s Senior Property Manager, Tori Marukelli, and Leasing Officer, Alice Quesnel, presented on how AHW approaches landlord-tenant relationships. They shared insight into the fair housing training all AHW staff complete, along with an overview of key support programs such as SASH, CSAC, MHIP, and AHW’s Family Support Program. The moral of their presentation: being a landlord means going beyond property management—it means supporting residents as they navigate their housing journeys.

The evening concluded with an open discussion facilitated by CVOEO’s Mike and Jess, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences. Many of the landlords present were small, local property owners eager to strengthen their practices and better understand available supports.

Events like this play a vital role in fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the housing community. As Mike aptly noted during the discussion, no single type of housing—or landlord—will solve the housing crisis on its own. Instead, progress depends on a diverse network of housing options, landlords, and tenants working together.
