STEP 1
Complete an AHW cover sheet and VT Common Rental Application.
Download the Common Rental Application and Cover Sheet:If you would like a coversheet and application mailed, please call (802) 877-2626 x100 and leave a message with your full name and full mailing address.
STEP 2
Follow the instructions carefully on the coversheet and fill out the Application and Cover Sheet completely.

Submit your fully completed application and AHW cover sheet to our office at 272 Main St. Vergennes, VT 05491:

We appreciate your patience while your application is being processed.
STEP 5
Your application is approved, denied, or sent back as incomplete.

STEP 2
Follow the instructions carefully on the coversheet and fill out the Application and Cover Sheet completely.
- Answer ALL yes or no questions.
- Select N/A if a section does not apply to you
- All household members over 18 have signed and dated the application
- All household members over 18 must provide the last 5 years of their housing history. This includes, but is not limited to, rentals, time spent with family/friends, motels/hotels, homeless shelters, emergency housing, homeownership, school housing, and military housing.
- Character references must know all adult household members at least 1 year, and not be related.

STEP 3
Submit your fully completed application and AHW cover sheet to our office at 272 Main St. Vergennes, VT 05491:
- Drop Off: use drop slot on front door of 272 Main Street Main Office
- Mail to: PO BOX 156 Vergennes, VT 05491
- Submit single PDF file to info@addisonhousingworks.org
- Faxed applications will not be accepted
STEP 4
We appreciate your patience while your application is being processed.
- Complete applications are taking about 21 business days to process.
- If your application is incomplete, processing time might take longer.
- The biggest reason for application processing to take longer than 10-14 days: References not returning calls or emails from AHW staff.
STEP 5
Your application is approved, denied, or sent back as incomplete.
- If your application is approved you will be added to applicable waitlists.
- Approved waitlisted applicants will be contacted when they are eligible for current or upcoming vacancies.
- It can take 12 months or longer before approved waitlisted applicants are contacted about a vacancy.
- If your application is denied, you have the right to appeal.
Helpful Hints:
- If possible, contact your references to inform them that someone from AHW will be reaching out to them for information.
- To help decrease processing time, you may provide multiple phone numbers and email address for references.
- If you have a criminal record, please provide contact information for probation/parole officers (if applicable).
- If you are interested in applying to Project Based Voucher apartments at AHW, please apply with VSHA:
